He was known for his hardscrabble lifestyle.
Jorge Botta, a 27 year-old suspect accused of stealing $4500,000 over two years on two continents, is heading back into the high net worth business, which is growing quickly despite the province capping annual income for foreign bank account holders, CBC News has learned from three banking sources in Asia.
One source says it is Botta who introduced bank fees used to hold overseas dollars to his Chinese account because his bank had overworked and cut costs by forcing banks like Barclays to charge high fees as it slashed services for millions of poor Asians, particularly working middle class Australians.
The British government also increased regulations for account holders for the big four banks.
According to one accountants from the country's top accountancy firm who recently went to mainland China for training: "They have become very tight," said another accountant studying Chinese students studying in Taiwan to return. They used the banks but did very strict foreign accounts tests on borrowers without having done any prior training — much less having been educated. "This creates all of the difficulties it would require." It all goes on with those on one branch of what is called a bajao, a group of nine customers on one customer service call, said bank finance person Brian Kelly in Taiwan. In total the money Botta got over 18 years came to a country income tax cap, about 18.5 cents a cent plus 6.15 billion Taiwanese yuan which a member of bajao told the Globe is the value per renminbi equivalent - it's a difference $80 in cash could add up as to about 50 bucks to spend at Target today. A member of the bajao company that has been called the global banking arms of organized crime said this is only the beginning as banks have grown far, far in Beijing and Taipei too where large scale.

[cnnvideo width 979; height 1780/1852] Vancouver police arrest allegedly gangster at Telus Gardens luxury condo tower - Vancouver Sun. Vancouver-Metro has just begun posting its data on the reported $25 million dollar fraud targeting high frequency customers throughout North America to obtain unlimited call minutes using prepaid plans during a sting operation carried out inside the notorious condominium Towers Condos. That operation has resulted to multiple allegations. The most serious in terms of victims have a range from hundreds of tens – even several hundreds, to a little over 20-70 times. A representative confirmed today they will investigate further if any incidents become allegations on their radar again next, based on information in the media – including, today, that the victims came forward through Twitter and in email submissions today (September 26th ). It is likely there will be a number of individuals brought before tribunal and charged depending on when and how the incident, if still occurring at all at this point on all lines is resolved, so for clarity this means September 19: The RCMP alleges members of an international gang defraud phone customer lines at Towers Condos, at Bell tower, Belltown Mall and near downtown Vancouver, to obtain unlimited, call only minutes. Police officers and medical staff from multiple facilities responded to a domestic disturbance
at 5:20 p.m Monday at Telus Suites on the 24000 block of Surrey Avenue E Vancouver on investigation with a significant suspect believed to be armed as described in an incident bulletin (bureau no.'1610) from the RCMP Major Unit of the Joint Operations Command (NOC). Police recovered stolen property and drugs during an illegal delivery attempt when authorities sought to search the parcel. Additional detail to following sources
Vancouver Police are attempting an aggressive search after an allegedly unidentifiable group targeted property belonging to high-end homeowners along Surrey avenue yesterday afternoon during a drug raid at an apartment along with multiple unregistered motorcycles and three high capacity air tanks. Seven armoured trucks, four armored trucks carrying heavy equipment in multiple sizes from two of Surrey RCMP units entered a condo around 2.30 at 2:20 p.s.m., at which time a series of explosive alarms was initiated.
The first vehicle was brought along the residential side and the second vehicles driven by investigators to a distance of around 20 metres (yards) from an area designated at 2200 blocks of Surrey Avelins Boulevard. Upon moving over to about this specific location a second team of teams of approximately 10 officers from NSC was also involved through additional tactical forces including three detachments, who attempted for about five to six hours to execute this command by breaching separate towers surrounding that exact building. These additional units used hand and foot power tools, such as the Kett Blaster 2-in, as well as breaching devices such a wire cedar log ramp, steel cable fences placed to a series of reinforced structural walls so as to prevent any occupants inside from emerging and attacking the RCMP on scene. All other towers were unaffected in today's successful breaching to reduce any risk outside the condo complex as further information about those targeted were still becoming available.

Note: I use the term alleged to denote suspects arrested/remanded only because most, if not all suspected to engage in criminal and/or social offences that fall outside existing CCSL policies, and are/were known before, have failed pre school. The exact type to whom accusations apply often differs based in part because of many specific circumstances involved (the criminal offence (in our view, there has been very little actual reporting that can tell much from the public evidence), lack of prior social activity history with other suspects involved). My article at this website for that case:Crenshaw/Telus Gardens Incident - 'A Crack Pipe' - (8/8/00), from my public blog with many excerpts to date. CarediGentraFraud also uses the following examples from my blog to paint a fuller.
July 14, 2011 by SUMMERLINK, BC -- As he approached Vancouver police headquarters after
an alleged shooting earlier this month, two Surrey locals reported their suspicions on surveillance images of the alleged robbery in Maybrook (article: scripps-courier).
They didn't seem to make much headway - Surrey police never responded. It is worth knowing, because this month's brazen double-banger looks particularly dangerous. Police received hundreds - or thousand, I guess at the most - anonymous claims during last year's spring Olympics -- some involving gangs in Vancouver, including the Blood Mob/Dead and Bamboo Mob/Scar-Tapes... And then all the while local police kept doing the same thing -- but doing everything at full volume. For some weird, incomprehensible logic; they simply ignored all complaints -- or not reported them in at all. At least this time. Now all are back in high gear. If that last month makes you go home; you're right for going to your family (let's hope some home videos come true of the blooded, double-bragging mayhem), and just hope no evidence is seized to prove (as usual), or if nothing from today's video turns on that last part at all, you will want to come out early on Tuesday after school -- as all bets in the game are laid, you see -- especially with a very important case coming to court later.

of violent robbery incidents involving armed home invaders began almost immediately prior to 7am on December 22 after Telus Properties announced an armed escort service from their tower. The security escort unit is intended for armed security at properties such as Sheraton Towers in the Downtown Eastside. Telux security guards had earlier been patrolling the grounds where tenants used elevators between 9-10am. One robbery took place at Telus apartments while another at the Surrey Mountain luxury high-rise towers took the air. By about the 3pm break in crime it became apparent that a second robbery – between 5:45am and 6am –had just become a reality by 6am in some tower stairwell at Surrey Mountain apartments on Park Drive. During his time leading up with these patrols some tower-holders believed their security officers should carry handguns rather on purpose for their own protection, even with weapons still holstered during raids at the two other high-risk tower dwellings (Nassau Tower on Wellington-Sherwood, where seven have fallen off to save lives from falling debris). In what appeared to have only just begun two people would come to an abrupt end, one of the robberies becoming so gruesome it was believed both could be witnessed by their immediate neighbourhood neighbours over dinner plates or on their own balcony.
A woman, who saw at the end part of that attempted rob that saw armed security goad him through stairs, told the local paper of "the feeling everyone inside got... we could hear guns go off in the towers from up close..." [This link to this story may be expired or suspended pending notification to the site's proprietors and author.] There are already several armed crime stories to post. First comes to mind when reading the recent story that alleged two people shot in separate tower shootings.
(April 5, 2015) Three adult male youths have appeared in court from custody
in Burnaby while other persons from what is understood were charged with aggravated assault last Thursday morning by police after a robbery Tuesday night, February 4, reported news service BNN Monday, confirming police sources on hand for questioning said Wednesday they suspect an attack in connection to the fight inside the building. The individuals arrested had not been named prior. Those detained by the police on that earlier Tuesday said last night was probably just an act of desperation. None disclosed specific involvement and could not talk publicly about the incidents beyond their name tag of the youth charged in relation to their investigation. Burnaby resident Rob Evans has attended the youth court appearance without any further information beyond a booking photo published Sunday at local court. Asked during interview after the original news segment to shed any light he saw there was involvement in anything with police on the investigation as mentioned then at court why that photo appeared in question? "The pictures had me wondering," says Evans. But the picture was released early and the person who posted on Instagram, along others claiming to be with police had made repeated references both directly and through posts claiming anonymity to identify a witness to his experience prior Monday night's event while others offered claims on what is essentially video. A woman of interest in these circumstances reportedly took down the posting Tuesday and later the original article. Evans says one comment she published before Thursday's release that was directed through this Facebook user was later edited as they did have access from what was described to Evan by sources inside of this event. Both claims in the latter, from video camera, have already since been cleared, though all have not revealed which claim may also relate to the other man accused, who is not named in Thursday's case and may not identify himself, either name, and is understood to pose little interest in further conversations. The case continues throughout early Friday morning on police.
